What is One Bay Area?

The SB375 Sustainable Community Strategy bill links land use to transportation creating high density, section 8 housing next to mass transit. These “Human Settlements” are subsidized by you the tax payer. Unelected regional bodies like, COGs (Councils of Government), Transit Authorities and the UN NGO ICLEI (United Nations Non-Governmental Organization International Council on Local and Environmental Initiatives)– Dictate land and transportation policies to local governments. In the Bay Area this regional plan is known as “One Bay Area Plan” or “Plan Bay Area”. It is a 35 year plan that will redistribute the wealth and completely transform ALL nine Bay Area counties and cities within them into high density low income urban human settlements. All of this is being done without YOUR vote! All of this is being done without your INPUT. These regional bodies; ABAG (Association of Bay Area Governments) and MTC (Metropolitan Transportation Commission) are receiving over $277 billion dollars in federal grant money to do this. The planning has been going on for years, yet the public is unaware. For several years ABAG and MTC planners told the public that we must give up our civil liberties and freedoms, live in high density stack and pack housing so that we can reduce GHGs (Green House Gases) and save the planet. However, in the last round of Environmental meetings we were told that the developers who build projects within the PDAs will get CEQA (Calif. Environmental Quality Act) waivers or streamlining as they called it. This makes it clear that the environment is not the reason behind their plans. This is all about control and money. These agencies and their regional plans will be adopted, if not stopped, next year in April.

What can you do?
1. Get your town to cancel its membership with ABAG and stop paying dues to this unelected, unaccountable agency.
2. Get your town rescind any PDA designation from your town.
3. Get your town to cancel its membership with ICLEI and stop paying dues to this International NGO.
4. Get your town Planning Commission and/or City Council to remove all specifications of the One Bay Area plan and EIR (Environmental Impact Report) from their General Plan, EIR and SAP (Sustainable Action Plan) or CAP (Climate Action Plan) as the One/Plan Bay Area is not complete, not certified and has not gone through the EIR process or been adopted by the Regional COG ABAG. SB375, page 2 clearly states that local municipalities do not have to comply and our general plans DO NOT have to be consistent in any way. Any town incorporating this incomplete plan into their general plan is being irresponsible.
